HEX Editing

HEX Editing, or HEXing, refers to way the game's files are altered and manipulated in order to grant the player special stats or spawn in items otherwise unobtainable in normal gameplay. By far the most HEX'ed item of this sort would be the Monster Pick, which was only obtainable during the Beta version of JJX. When trading, the player will often come across players with an unusually high amount of over-stacked items. Over-stacking items can only be achieved through HEX'ing. HEX is short for hexadecimal code, which is the way the game stores all of its information on the character. HEX editing can also be used to grant players different stats, such as higher luck quantities and damage dealt.

Hexadecimal consists of the number 0-9 and the letters A-F, with 0 being the lowest and F being the highest. Most item IDs in the game consist of around four of these, e.g. AC45. All of the items obtained using HEX editing can be found in the file english.json as unused items or items being added in future updates along with every other item currently already in the game.

HEX editing is extremely hard to master, as the code differs greatly to the original Junk Jack's code. The HEX editing process can not be mentioned here. If you do happen to learn how to HEX, do not distribute any of the items you obtain or mention how the HEXing process works, as this can be a bannable offense. Known HEX'ed items

These items are generally unobtainable in legitimate gameplay. All of these items exist in the game's resource files. Some items, such as Master Lures, were previously unobtainable and were therefor HEX'ed in. Now they can be obtained legitimately though normal gameplay.
