Rares

Rares, also known as treasures, are collectible items which are rarely dropped from chests when destroyed. Similar to Manufacts, these items currently serve no purpose in the game other than being highly sought after by players. The value of a rare is generally judged by the rarity, and rares are categorized using a purple outline in-game. Certain rares, such as the Sssquared Monster are occasionally dropped from mobs when killed. During the 2.1.7 update, 90 more rares were added to the game. There are 129 treasures in total, not including rares added in the 2.2 Update.

All of the rares added before the 2.1.7 update can be found when breaking various types of dirt. Some can also be obtained when killing certain mobs. Luck can increase the chance of a rare being dropped. Most of these rares are references to video games and consoles

The 2.2 Summer Update introduced a few summer or beach themed items to the game. They can be obtained through breaking Summer Chests, through [[Fishing, and through destroying the respective shell blocks in the Summer Biomes.
