The falling star is a fan favorite Christmas mob that was removed in v1.2.3. It can jump up to 9 blocks high and can’t be tamed.
Its high jumping and strong health made it hard to kill. Also, the low drop rate of star dust made it one of the hardest item to get in the game.

The falling star spawns on the surface during the day.
