Buckets are used to hold liquids, but the only liquid in the game is milk.
However, there are unusable items called Water Bucket and Lava Bucket in the game.
They are iron buckets filled with water and lava, but they don't do anything.
You can tap a cow with a bucket to get milk.

Buckets can be made of wood or iron, but they both do the exact same thing.
